Myanmar’s military has ordered local telecoms providers to temporarily block Facebook, where a civil disobedience campaign has gained momentum since Monday’s coup. In a notice issued late on Wednesday, the Ministry of Transport and Communications told telecoms companies to block access to the platform until just before midnight on February 7. The notice said the platform was contributing to instability in the country.
